Robert L. Reese

Robert L. Reese, 72 of  S. Juliana St., Bedford, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at his home.  He was born March 3, 1937 in Bedford, son of the late Harry and Clara (Wilson) Reese.  On December 11, 1955 he married Kay Smith and his death ends a marriage union of 53 years.  Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Debbie wife of Richard Henderson of Bedford and Tricia L. Gates of Hyndman, four grandchildren, Beau Henderson, Lacey Stiffler, Wes Gates, Jesse Gates and two great grandchildren; Owen Gates and Riley Henderson.  He was preceded in death by three brothers; Harry, Jim and John Reese and three sisters; Helen Stephens, Marian Gardner and Margaret Bunt.

Mr. Reese was a member of St. Paul’s Reform Church.  He retired in 1997 as a supervisor for Kennametal where he had worked for the past 41 years.  He played Drums for many area bands over the years and everyone will remember him for his whistling and cheerful demeanor.

Funeral services: Friday, May 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Pastor Howard A.
