Robert F. Phillips 81 of Business 220, Bedford, died Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. He was born March 8, 1926 in Schellsburg, son of the late Francis J. and Florence V. (Ranker) Phillips. On October 1, 1945 in Bedford he married Ernestine H. Lohr and she survives along with two children: Robert S. Phillips married to the former Mary Newton of New Boston, NH and Barbara wife of Steve Godsey of Greenville, SC, eight grandchildren: David Phillips and wife Anita, Julie wife of Paul Bosch, Jennifer wife of Shane Moscato, Natalie wife of Jeffrey James, Jacob F., Magdalene and Sarah Phillips, Jeena M. Godsey and five great grandchildren and a brother Jon W. Phillips and wife JoAnn of Schellsburg. He was preceded in death by a brother Francis, a sister Dorothy Diehl and an infant daughter Bonnie Mae Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was a member of St. John’s UCC Church in Bedford, Bedford Masonic Lodge #320 F & AM and the Bedford American Legion Post 113.
Funeral Services: Tuesday 11:00 am in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Joseph Puleo officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park with military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
