Robert F. O'Brien

Robert  F. O'Brien, 83, of Bedford, died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born on January 15, 1929, in New Baltimore, a son of the late Joseph  L. and Olive M. (Schaab) O'Brien.  He is survived by a daughter, Joan C. wife of Larry Finegan of Emmitsburg, MD, a daughter, Helen S. wife of Edmund Ibarra of Buffalo Mills, a daughter, Frances B. wife of Eric Claycomb of Osterburg, a son, Robert H. O’Brien married to the former Barbara Kegg, of Bedford, a son, Michael J. O’Brien married to the former Sonya Dibert of Everett, seven grandchildren; Stacey, Alicia, Eric, Jeffrey, Kristin, Keithan and Emily, three great grandchildren; Colton, Aaron, and Willow,  four brothers, Harold O’Brien of Wernersville, Leo O'Brien of Everett, Gerald O'Brien of St. Clairsville, Francis O'Brien of Everett, five sisters; Margaret Hillegass of Buffalo Mills, Anna O'Brien, Rita Folton, Theresa Drenning, Evelyn Fletcher all of Bedford.  He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Imgrund, Rose Focthman, and Irene O'Brien, and an infant sister, Helen O'Brien.

Robert was a member of the St. John's The Baptist Catholic Church and was afflitated with St. Thomas Catholic Church.  He retired from Penn Dot and prior to that worked in logging business.  He was a former member of the Bedford Valley Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed traveling and hunting.

Funeral Mass will be held on December 5, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore with Father George Jakopac celebrant.  Burial at the Church Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil Service for the deceased will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Timothy A.
