Robert E. “Bob” Naugle, 88, of Reynoldsdale Road, New Paris, died Sunday, September 20, 2015, at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on March 30, 1927, in Bedford, a son of the late Edward S. and Mary I. (Harclerode) Naugle. On November 8, 1947, in Cumberland, MD, he married Dortha (Oster) Naugle, who survives along with a daughter, Sharon LaLonde, of Toledo, OH, and a son, Stephen R. Naugle, of Pensecola, FL; four grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephenie, Michael, and Robert; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Fisher, a brother, Charles Naugle, and two infant children.
Mr. Naugle was a member of the St. Paul’s Reformed Church, and was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army with Company A 14th Infantry Regiment from 1945-1946. He reenlisted during the Korean conflict and served in Germany from 1950-1951. He worked as a grader operator for PennDot, and then retired after 30 years from Beegle’s Hunting and Christmas Tree Farm. Bob was a former Governor of the Bedford Moose Lodge #480. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Eric Larson, officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m., until the hour of the service, at the funeral home.
