Robert E. Naugle

Robert E. “Bob” Naugle, 88, of Reynoldsdale Road, New Paris, died Sunday, September 20, 2015, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on March 30, 1927, in Bedford, a son of the late Edward S. and Mary I. (Harclerode) Naugle.  On November 8, 1947, in Cumberland, MD, he married Dortha (Oster) Naugle, who survives along with a daughter, Sharon LaLonde, of Toledo, OH, and a son, Stephen R. Naugle, of Pensecola, FL; four grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephenie, Michael, and Robert; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Fisher, a brother, Charles Naugle, and two infant children.

Mr. Naugle was a member of the St. Paul’s Reformed Church, and was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army with Company A 14th Infantry Regiment from 1945-1946.  He reenlisted during the Korean conflict and served in Germany from 1950-1951.  He worked as a grader operator for PennDot, and then retired after 30 years from Beegle’s Hunting and Christmas Tree Farm.  Bob was a former Governor of the Bedford Moose Lodge #480.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Eric Larson, officiating.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m., until the hour of the service, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions in Bob’s name to: Bedford County Library, 240 S.
