Robert G. Mundwiler, 87, of Lincoln Highway Bedford, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at his residence. He was born on March 11, 1916 in Bedford, a son of the late Meryl and Cara (Shaffer) Mundwiler, In September of 1944 he married Anna Ruth Blackburn who preceded him in death on March 20, 1996. He is survived by a daughter, Nancy wife of Eric W. Polley of Fredens, a son, Michael J. married to the former Reta Darr of Mechanicsburg, and a brother, Meryl and wife Betty of Port Charolette, FL. He was preceded in death by 1 son: James, 2 sisters LaVerne Beam, and Ruth wife of Ben Stevens of Marysville, and 1 brother Thomas.
He was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ, the Bedford American Legion Post #113, Bedford Masonic Lodge #320 F&AM. He retired in 1976 from Eastern Express and prior to that at worked at Brown Motors in Bedford. He enjoyed sports, hunting and gardening.
Funeral Services: Friday, June 20, 2003, at 11:00 AM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Rev. Beverely Swindell officiating. Burial in Schellsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday from 7-9 PM, at the funeral home.
