Robert C. Garland

Robert C. Garland, 88, of Bedford, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born on October 16, 1925, in Buffalo Mills, a son of the late Carl W. and M. Grace (Stouffer) Garland. On December 11, 1945, in Clearville, he married Alma L. Jay, who preceded him in death in 1993.  He is survived by a son, R. Royce Garland, and wife Gloria, of Boswell, and two daughters: Virginia wife of Tom Fisher, and Carle Garland, both of Bedford; five grandchildren: Melissa L, Kristen L, Scott R. Garland, Robert J. Fisher, and Amy Mellot; and one brother, Samuel Garland, and wife Annette, of Buffalo Mills. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Garland, a daughter Nancy Garland, a sister, Carle Huntsman, and a brother William Garland.

Mr. Garland was a member of the Milligans Cove Christian Church, serving as a Deacon and Trustee for many years. He retired after 18 years from Lowes Inc, and had also worked as a self-employed farmer.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., at the Milligans Cove Christian Church, in Buffalo Mills, with Rev. Russell Hoffman Jr. officiating.  Burial at Milligans Cove Christian Church Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from ____ to ____, at the Timothy A.
