Robert E. Davis

Robert E. Davis, 79 of Business 220, died Friday, September 28, 2012 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home.  He was born June 19, 1933 in Mahanoy City, the son of the late Edwin J. and Amena (Reighard) Davis.  On August 4, 1960, in Bedford,  he married Betty Judy and she survives.

Robert was a graduate of the Bedford High School class of 1951 and Penn State Technical School in York.  He served in the US Army from May of 1953 to May of 1955, and worked as an Electronics Technician for Companies whose main contract was the Pennsylvania Turnpike.                                                                              He was an active member of the Bedford United Methodist Church and a member of the Bedford American Legion Post 113.                                                                                                                                                        He was an avid rail fan.  In addition to his model railroad, he was a member of the National Railroad Historic Society, Horseshoe Curve Chapter , Western Maryland Chapter and Friends of the East Broad Top.

Private burial services will be held at Bedford Cemetery; by the request of the deceased there will be no visitation.                                                                                                                                                                Those wishing may make contributions the United Methodist Church, 132 E.
