Robert R. Burkett

Robert R. Burkett, 86, of Arandale Street, Bedford, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at his residence. He was born on August 6, 1928, in Bedford, a son of the late G. Randolph and Flora (Shoemaker) Burkett. On March 8, 1951, in Bedford, he married Evadean (Diehl) Burkett who preceded him in death on August 7, 1998.  He is survived by a daughter, Cindy wife of Bob Dibert of Bedford, a son, Mike Burkett of Pasadena, MD; a grandson, Ryan Dibert and wife Angie of Bunker Hill, WV; a great-grandson, Chase Dibert; and a brother, Donald H. Burkett and wife Roberta of Charleston, SC.

Robert was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, and the Bedford Rotary Club. He retired in 1998 after owning Burkett Motors in Bedford, for over 45 years. He served in the Army during Korea War, and was stationed in Japan.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John’s United Church of Christ, with Pastor Joseph Puleo, and Pastor Brady Plummer officiating. Burial at Trinity UCC Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
