Robert W. Bryan

Dr. Robert W. Bryan, 74, of Full Circle Road, Bedford, died Monday, December 19, 2011, while working on his property.   He was born on August 10, 1937, in Newark, NJ, a son of the late James Edward and Alice (Porter) Bryan.  On July 9, 1957 in Valdosta, GA, he married Carol Sando and she survives along with a daughter, Georgia Lee, wife of David Helms of Raleigh, NC, three sons, LtCol. USMC (Retired) Fredrick C. Bryan married to the former Virginia Lee Johnson of Manns Choice, Bradley James Byran married to the former Camela Hinton of Spring, TX, Captain US Air Force Benjamin David Bryan married to the former Cori Lee Ehrlich of Abilene, TX, 11 grandchildren:  Jennifer Cabe, Joseph, Boaz, and Isaiah Helms, Hannah, Sarah, Wesley, Avery, Calvin, Justin and Logan Bryan, one brother, Edward Bryan and wife Doris of Redbank, NJ, one sister, Shirley Holder of Tallahassee, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one sister; Betty Strohmeyer.

He was a member and Sunday School Teacher at the Bedford United Methodist Church.  He retired as a college professor at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA and prior to that he was a Presbyterian Minister in the South East.  He enjoyed his Wednesday morning breakfast group, and the OCF Bible study at White Sulphur Springs.  He was also the clerk of the works for the Heritage House at White Sulphur Springs.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., at the Bedford United Methodist Church in Bedford with the Rev. Jeff Welsch officiating.  Burial at Milligans Cove Christian Church Cemetery in Buffalo Mills.   Friends will be received on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
