Robert M. "Bob" Nave

Robert M. ‘Bob’ Nave, 90 of Bedford, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. He was born on January 15, 1926, in Bedford a son of the late Jacob C. and Pearl E. (Evans) Nave. On July 18, 1955, in Bedford, he married Rita M. (Wolfhope) Nave, who survives along with four daughters: Nancy wife of Timothy Mickey, of Bedford, Carol Lehman, and companion John Boyd, of Chambersburg, Sherry wife of Paul Diehl, of Bedford, and Lisa wife of Dustin Hoffman, of Bedford; and a son Daniel Nave, married to the former Ronda Fetter, of Bedford; six grandchildren: Brett, Erin, Adam, Laura, Cara, and Cassie; 4 great-grandchildren, Austin, Jocelyn, Dexter, and Sadie; and a sister Nora widow of Warren Birchall, of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Mary Friedline.
Bob served in the Navy during World War II, and the Army during the Korean War. He then retired from the Texas Eastern Plant. He was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church, Bedford American Legion Post #113, and Life Member of the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department, active for 64 years.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Doug Friant officiating. Burial at Woods Church, with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
