Robert H. Bingham, 83, of Bedford, died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. He was born on October 4, 1921 in Everett, A Son of the late Frank E. and Elizabeth (Williams) Bingham. On August 23, 1948, in Winchester, VA, He married Romaine M. Evans, who survives along with the following family, 3 Sons, Donald O. married to the former Laura Johnson of Imlertown, Ronald W. of Bedford, Robert B. Bingham of Everett, and 1 Daughter, Dixie L. Bingham of Altoona, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 sister June widow of John Evans of Everett. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Charles, Harry, & Donald "Doc" Bingham.
He was a Army Vetern of WWII and served in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #320, Bedford American Legion Post #113, Fort Bedford Honor Guard, Bedford VFW Post #7527, Lifetime member of North American Hunter Assoc., and lazy Bee Campers Assoc. He retired in 1984 form New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. as a truck driver and also drove the cart van for Area on Agency until 2003.
Funeral Services on Thursday, November 18, 2004, at 2:00 PM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, Inc. in Bedford, with the Rev. Dr. M. Edgar Datesman officiating, Burial in Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the funeral home.
