Richard W. "Rich" Imler

Richard W. “Rich” Imler, 73, of Bedford, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on October 25, 1943, in Imlertown, a son of the late J. Albert and Ruth E. (Mickle) Imler. On November 20, 1964, in Cumberland, MD, he married Zella "Cindy" (Redinger) Imler who survives along with the following family: a son, Richie Imler, of Bedford; a daughter, Misty Hizer and husband Nick, of Bedford; three grandchildren:  Chelsi Imler, Liev and Isla Hizer all of Bedford; three brothers: James A. Imler, of Prescott, AZ; John M. Imler and wife Mary of Bedford; and Samuel P. Imler of South Carolina.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Imler and a brother, Joseph A. Imler Sr.

Richard was affiliated with the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford. He retired from Kennametal after 43 years, and continued to do consulting work for Janssen-Boas Company out of California. He also taught CNC classes at the Bedford/Everett VoTech and was the former owner of Rich Imler’s Chimney Service.  He was a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge # 320 F&AM and enjoyed watching the dirt track races, bowling, hunting, and going to breakfast with the Kennametal retirees.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Raymond E. Short officiating.  Burial will be private.  Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m., at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
