Richard H. Mcmillen

Richard H. McMillen, 78, of Cortland Road, New Paris, died Friday, September 11, 2015, at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home.  He was born on July 3, 1937, in Windber, a son of the late Arthur B. and Ruth V. (Barefoot) McMillen.  On July 21, 1956, in Bedford, he married Pauline (Stambaugh) McMillen, his wife of 59 years, who survives along with three children: Kay, Julie, and Matthew, and their spouses; five grandchildren: Josh, Jase, Jake, Mattison, and Marley; three sisters: Janet Detweiler, Sally Cuppett, and Patricia Worrell; two brothers: George and Jim McMillen; and many nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles McMillen.

Mr. McMillen retired from Kennametal and Pepsi.  He also worked as a mechanic at McMillen and Sons Garage.  He was a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #320, F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Jaffa Shrine, and the Bedford Moose Lodge #480, where he held the Pilgrim Degree.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 8:00 p.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Mark Dillow, officiating.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  Friends will be received on Saturday, from 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions in Richard’s name to: Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3551 N.
