Richard A. Leavitt, 72, of Hyndman, PA died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital in Johnstown, PA. He was born on December 2, 1938, in Williamantic, Maine, a son, of the late John and Helen Louise (Smith) Leavitt. On July 29, 1956 in Cumberland, MD, he married Roberta (McCusker) who survives along with two sons, Allen Leavitt and wife Melissa of Williamatic, Maine, and Raymond Leavitt and wife Judy of Hyndman, PA, three sisters, Marilyn Gordon of Rawlings, MD, Mary Jane Erickson of Monson, Maine, and Thelma King of Guilford, Maine, He was preceded in death by one step-son Robert Kiester, two brothers, and four sisters.
When Mr. Leavitt lived in Maine he was self employed as a lumberjack. He enjoyed his cats and working on vehicles.
