Richard E. Bugle Sr., 80 of Country Ridge Road, Bedford, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born September 17, 1929 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Harry and Nell (Colteryahn) Bugle. On July 18, 1959 in Erie, he married Bernardine Czyzewski, and she survives along with a daughter Sharon wife of David Turkovich and a son Richard E. Bugle Jr. both of Bedford, four grandchildren; David Jr. and Jessica Turkovich, Laurrie and Jacob Bugle, one step-grandson Gregory Luckenbach, and a sister Harriet wife of Edward March of West Melbourne, FL. He was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca and a sister Nancy Scharf.
Mr. Bugle was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired Mechanical Engineer at Kennametal, Inc. He was a member of the Bedford Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the property committee, the Bedford American Legion Post 0113, Bedford Masonic Lodge # 320 F. &A.M., and the Bedford Elks Lodge # 1707. He had served 24 years on the Bedford TWP Municipal Authority and was the Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year for 1998. He was an avid gardener and fisherman, and enjoyed his hobby of woodworking.
Funeral Services: Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bedford Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Raymond E. Short officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park, with military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Tuesday at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and ½ hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday morning.
