Reube B. Moorehead

Reube B. Moorehead, 94, of, Bedford, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard.  She was born on May 12, 1918, in Bedford, the daughter of the late John R. and Sarah M. (Cobler) Bergstresser. On January 15, 1944, in Bedford, she married Dr. C. Arnold Moorehead and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2003.  She is survived by a brother-in-law Shirley Moorehead of Bedford, and the following nieces and nephews:  Jim Loar and wife Amy of Knoxville, TN, Cynthia Hedlund of Tucson, AZ, Jane Black and husband John of Bedford, Charlie Moorehead of Bedford, and Robert Murphy of Cave Creek, AZ, Phyllis Mellott and husband Albert of Bedford, Linn Cober and husband Jay of Bedford, and many great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Jane Bergstresser-Loar.

Reube was affiliated with the Bedford United Methodist Church.  She was a graduate of Bedford High School class of 1939 and she graduated from Lancaster College with a degree in nursing, and was one of the first nurses to work at Bedford Hospital.   She enjoyed golfing at the Elks and exercising.  She and her husband helped operate the Roll Arena Complex that included the Motel and Restaurant.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 11:00 am, in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Jeff Welsch officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
