Raymond J. Glass

Raymond J. Glass, 81, of Limestone Ave., Bedford, died Friday, August 21, 2015 at his residence. He was born on July 4, 1934, in Cumberland, MD, a son of the late Denver and Dorsie (Smith) Glass. On August 28, 1954, in Cumberland, MD, he married Shirley (Lowery) Glass who survives along with the following family, a daughter, Roxanne wife of Kevin Jones of Bedford; a son, Raymond Glass married to the former Brenda Koontz of Shermans Dale; four grandchildren:  Aaron, Alex, Clifton, and Christina; and three great grandchildren; four brothers, Paul Glass and wife Gay of Boiling Springs; Charles Glass and wife Doris of Poolesville, MD; Oliver Glass and wife Joanne of Taneytown, MD; Richard Glass and wife Betty of Cumberland, MD; two sisters: Dorothy “Sis” Baker of Innwood, WV, and Dareen Angell and husband David of Easley, SC.  He was preceded in death by a grandson Robert, a brother, Robert "Duck" Glass wife Carol who survives of York.

Raymond was a member and Deacon of the New Life Tabernacle Church in Cumberland, MD. He owned his own upholstery shop for 15 years and then worked at Hedstrom until his retirement.  He enjoyed spending time at Raystown Lake, boating and camping with his family.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Richard Glass and Pastor Fred Howsare officiating.  Burial at Woods Church Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m., at the funeral home.   Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
