Ray Vincent Chathams

Ray Vincent Chathams, 91, of Elyria, OH, died on January 6, 2018 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria OH. He was born on March 30, 1926, in Altoona, a son of the late Joseph B. and Ocie Mae (Pensyl) Chathams. He is survived by a brother, Ronald Chathams, of Altoona, seven nieces: Anna Lashley, of Espyville, Twila Comp, of Bedford, Lisa Schmid, of Hagerstown, MD, Donna Cooney, of Altoona, Cindy Carowick, of Elkins, WV, Linda McCulley, of Altoona, and Diane White, of Altoona; four nephews, Robert Turner of Bedford, Lester Turner of Bedford, Leonard Turner, of Temperanceville, VA, and Thomas Chathams, of Altoona. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vance and Ross Chathams, two half-brothers, Glenn and Charles Turner, two nephews, Kenneth and George Turner, and a niece, Janet Greenswalt.
Ray was of the United Methodist Faith. He worked for Lorraine products as an electronic assembler in Lorraine, OH.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Thalia Fleetwood officiating. Burial will be private. Full military rites will be conducted on Saturday at the funeral home by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
