Ramon “Bud” Ibarra Sr., better known as “Red” 88, of Everett, died on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born on March 3, 1937 in Stroudsburg, a son of the late Harry J. and Mary Jane Ibarra and the late Ella (Woolbert) Cowling and husband Charles. On March 22, 1958 in Cumberland, MD he married his wife of 67 years, Sandra (Winesickle) Ibarra who survives along with two children: Ramon “Bud” Ibarra Jr. and wife Patricia of Everett and Ellen Ibarra-Harriman widow of John of Everett; seven grandchildren: Brandi, Jacob, Jared, and Rebecca Ibarra, Lucas and Benjamin Howsare, and Aiden Harriman; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ron Ibarra and wife Sharon of Greensville, SC and Edmund Ibarra and wife Helen of Buffalo Mills; and two sisters: Rita Ibarra widow of Richard Walter of New Paris and Vickie Ranker and husband Gary of Buffalo Mills. He is preceded in death by four sisters: Ruth Whetstone, Cheryl Claar, Sonia Ruppel, and Corrinna Winter.
Ramon graduated from Bedford High School, class of 1956 where he played football and wrestled. After high school, he became a meat cutter and was a meat manager at various grocery stores in the region. He attended and was active at the Victory Fellowship Church.
Some of his enjoyments included watching sports, hunting, and fishing and traveling out west to hunt with his family. A highlight of his life was helping his son and grandsons big game hunting business in Idaho. As a true patriarch of the family, he was very active when it came to his family and following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their sporting events.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Pastor Dan Diehl officiating. Burial will be private at Fishertown Cemetery. Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
