Rae W. Washington

Rae W. Washington 83 of Old State Road, Bedford, died Monday June 26, 2000 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born April 14, 1917 in Bedford daughter of the late George William and Margaret Virginia (Johnson) Harris.  On December 1, 1933 in Cumberland, MD she married Albert E. Washington and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1967.  She is survived by two children: Wilma Washington Poole of Akron, Ohio and Gary E. Washington married to the former  Mabel Bradford of Bedford.  Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, two brothers: Donald and Floyd Harris both of Bedford.  She was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Vivian and Rebecca and 1 brother Cecil.

Mrs. Washington was a member of Mt. Pisgah AME Zion Church of Bedford .  She had worked as a horse trainer and as a tour guide at Fort Bedford and Old Bedford Village.

Funeral Services: Thursday 11:00 AM from the Mt . Pisgah AME Zion Church with the Rev. Booker T. Betts officiating.  Burial at  Mt. Ross Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Thursday Morning from 9:30 until the time of  service at the church.  Those wishing may make contributions to the Mt. Pisgah AME Zion Church, P. O.
