A proud resident and member of the Bedford community, R. Martin Reiley died peacefully in the early morning of March 6, 2011, surrounded by his three loving children.
After graduating from W& J College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Martin joined the family law practice, Reiley & Reiley, in 1966 to work alongside his father. He has practiced law in Bedford ever since, becoming through the years a familiar face on Juliana Street and around town. He was an avid reader, traveler, nature enthusiast, volunteer, and conversationalist.
Martin was born on July 13, 1941 to the late Don Cress Reiley, Jr. and Mary Shoemaker Reiley. He was also brother to the late Rosy Reiley Leppert, and is survived by two brothers, Don C. “Pat” Reiley III and Robert T. Reiley. He will be missed dearly by his three children: Erin Reiley Ward, Matthew Reiley, and Ian Reiley, and by his grandchild, Oliver Reiley Ward.
Friends will be received at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford on Wednesday March 9th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, March 10th, 11:00 a.m., at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bedford, Reverend William Foy will officiate.
