Priscilla V. Saqueton, 94, of Everett, died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on May 7, 1921, in Kawit Cavite, Philippines a daughter of the late Hilarion and Serapia (Samaniego) Vida. On September 23, 1944, she married Felicisimo C. Saqueton who preceded her in death on March 16, 2000. She is survived by two daughters: Teresita S. “Tessie” wife of Dr. Ernesto de las Alas of Everett, and Lorna S. wife of Orlando Alcantara of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren: Maritess de las Alas, Ron de las Alas and wife Stacy of Pittsburgh, PA; Mitzi and husband Lex de los Reyes of San Diego, CA, Lorelyn Alcantara, of San Diego, CA, Irwin Alcantara and wife Honey Michelle of San Diego, CA; five great grandchildren: Avery, Quincy, Aldryn, Jadrien and Jondre; and two sisters: Natalia Guhit of San Antonio, TX and Estrella Sanares, San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by three brothers Gonzalo, Conrado, Emelito and two sisters Felisa and Generosa.
Prior to moving to the U.S., she was a seamstress and doll maker. Her husband was an artist and together they ran an art store in the Philippines before moving to Jackson Heights, NY, in 1974, and then to Everett, PA, in 1975, with her daughter and husband. She was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford, and touched many hearts with her beautiful voice through singing. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling. She was a loving person who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday December 3, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 990 Saturn Blvd, San Diego, CA 92154, with internment to follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, from 5-9 p.m., at the Glen Abbey Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A Catholic mass will be offered in Bedford and will be announced at a later date. Those wishing to do so can make memorial contributions in Priscilla’s memory to the St. Thomas Catholic Church, 215 East Penn Street, Bedford, PA 15522. Arrangements by the Timothy A.
