Phyllis J. (Rhodes) Bruening-College, 80, of Bedford, died on Friday, June 6, 2025, at home after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on March 12, 1945, a daughter of the late Ogden G. and Mabel V. (Steele) Rhodes. She married her husband, Daniel P. Bruening who preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Amtower of Florida, Laurie Baker of MD, and Tina Williams of MD; a son, Larry Deremer (Kathy) of Bedford; a step-daughter, Kathy Ferro (Tracey) of MS; six grandchildren, Scott, Dusty, Nathan, Sammy, Matt, and Mathew; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Deloris Bulger (Ron) of Everett; and a brother, Ronald “Buck” Rhodes (Randa) of Everett. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Williams, a stepson, Kevin Williams, a grandson, Michael Bridges, and brothers Vincent, William, and Robert.
Phyllis was a devout Christian and attended Everett First Christian Church. She was very involved with the Senior Center in Bedford and loved spending time with her friends, shopping, and going out to eat.
