Paul L. Long

Paul L. Long, 91 of Bedford, died Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard.  He was born on February 12, 1925 in Meyersdale, a son of the late Daniel W. and Susan (Gnagey) Long.  On November 17, 1946, in Meyersdale, he married Louise (Knepper) Long, who preceded him in death on June 23, 2006.  He is survived by a son John D. Long married to the former Muriel Perkins, Leicester, England; and two sisters: Mary Howar, of Shenandoah Junction, WV, and Ruth Walter wife of Jack, of Wheelersburg, OH.  He was preceded in death by two brothers: William and John Long.

Paul grew up in Meyersdale and was a graduate of Meyersdale High School.  He was a proud lifelong farmer owning and operating his own farm near Centerville.  He grew up attending the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, and was a member of the Bedford Bible Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at 4:00 p.m., at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Keith Showalter officiating.  Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2-4 p.m., at the funeral home.  A second funeral service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Pete Kaltenbaugh, officiating.  Burial at Union Cemetery, in Meyersdale.  Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service at the church in Meyersdale on Friday.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make a contribution in Paul’s name to: Bedford Bible Church, 15 Meadow Lane, Bedford, PA 15522.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
