Patricia Tweedie

Patricia Tweedie, 92, of Lincoln Highway, Bedford, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Carol's Rest Home. She was born on March 28, 1922, in Arlington, MA, a daughter of the late William O. and Dorothy (Roberts) Tait. She is survived by the following family: two sons, Kippy Tweedie and wife Cindy of Townsend, TN, James Tweedie and wife Debra of Bedford; a daughter, Mary wife of James Morgan of Schellsburg; three grandchildren: Allison “Enid”, Jessica, and Rebeca; five great-grandchildren: Madeleine, Michael, Mason, Riley, and Connor; three brothers, Bill Tait and wife Rita, of Providence, RI, Bob Tait and, Jay Tait both of Clearwater, FL.

Patricia graduated from Margaretville Central High School and received a Bachelors from State Teachers College at Oneonta, N.Y. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Special Education from George Washington University.  During WWII she honorably served with the United States of America as a member of the office of Strategic Services, deciphering code.  She retired after 35 years, from the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area public school system, as a Special Education Teacher.  Washington D.C. was her chosen home for most of her life, and she loved the community there.  She loved antiques, and decorating the house and preparing dinners for the holidays.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 1:30 p.m., at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Doug Friant Officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday, a half hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by the Timothy A.
