Norma J. Baker, 94, of Bedford, died on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on January 27, 1932 in Bedford, a daughter of the late John Arthur and Goldie Mae (Beegle) Clark. On June 12, 1950 in Cumberland, MD, she married Myron W. Yantz and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1971. She is survived by a daughter Lisa J. Merritt widow of Roger of Bedford; one granddaughter, Calena May Merritt also of Bedford. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Yantz, five brothers George O, Edmund “Bud”, Paul A., James B., and John A. Clark, four sisters: Mildred Stanko, Martha Clark, Dorothy M. Clark, and Geraldine M. McGuinn.
Norma graduated from Bedford High School in 1950. She was employed by Howard Johnson for 28 years at South Midway Plaza on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. She was a life member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a 72 year active member of the Bedford American Legion Auxiliary Post # 113. A member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club since 1973. RSVP volunteer at the Bedford Senior Citizen Center and in her retired years she worked as a caregiver till she was 84 for First Choice in Homecare. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford with Rev. David Weinhold officiating. Friends will be received on Friday, June 26, 2026 one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 106 East Penn Street, Bedford, PA 15522. Arrangements by Timothy A.
