Naomi A. Engle

Naomi A. Engle, 73, of Egolf Road, Bedford, passed away April 12, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 19, 1937 in Morgantown, WV, the daughter of the late John D. and Francis (Imbach) Squires.
Naomi graduated from Morgantown High School in 1956, worked for Thompson’s of Morgantown and later as a kindergarten teacher in Virginia, where she resided for 40 years. She retired from FEMA in 2001, after 25 years of service.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Otis D. Engle, a son, Jansen A. Engle of Martinsburg, WV, and several special grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition she is survived by a brother-in-law Paul Laskody of Morgantown, and several special nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by a son, Erik Engle, two brothers; William Squires and John “Jack” Squires, three sisters; Jean Chalfant, Lila DeVault, and JoAnne Laskody.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.
