Nancy E. Griffiths

Nancy E. Griffiths, 79, of Bedford, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Johnstown.  She was born on August 21, 1933 in Gardner, MA, the daughter of the late Carl W. and  Irene Evelyn (Dahlborg) Hedstrom.  She married William E. Griffiths in 1956 and ten years later moved to Bedford with their two young daughters.  She is survived by her loving husband Bill along with their two daughters; Pamela, wife of Gary Heaton of Davidson, NC, and Deborah, wife of Gary Lindner of Macungie, two grandchildren: William Heaton of San Antonio, TX, and Michael Heaton of Davidson, NC. Also surviving is a sister, Marilyn, wife of William McKenzie of San Diego, CA.

Before moving to Pennsylvania, Nancy worked as a Kindergarten teacher in Worcester, MA.  Besides being a wonderful wife and mother, she  was also a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church, a volunteer at Bedford Memorial Hospital and a  member of the Bedford County Garden Club and Cumberland Country Club.

Memorial Services celebrating Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at The Bedford Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Friant officiating.  Private family burial  at Bedford Cemetery will occur on a later date.  Friends will be received on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
