Myrtle I. Rose 97 of Quincy, PA formerly of Bedford Valley, died, Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Quincy Village in Quincy. She was born October 20, 1910 in Bedford Valley, daughter of the late Hammick and Orma (Simons) Elliott. On October 4, 1930 in Bedford Valley she married Arthur S. “Jack” Rose and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1972. She is survived by two daughters: Genevieve L. wife of Paul H. DeLauter of Sabillasville, MD, N. Darlene Kegg of Sellersville and a son A. Eugene Rose married to the former Barbara Harris of Landsdale. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, two brothers: Cletus Elliott and Donald Elliott and wife Gertrude both of Bedford Valley. She was preceded in death by a daughter Beatrice, a brother Howard Elliott and a son-in-law Gary Kegg.
Mrs. Rose was a member of the Centerville United Methodist Church and had worked in the kitchens at Howard Johnsons and the Bedford Springs Hotel.
Funeral Services: Saturday, 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Pastor Thomas Horvat officiating. Burial in the Union Cemetery in Centerville. Friends will be received on Saturday morning from 10:00 until the time of service.
