Myrtle A. “Peg” Fleegle, 89, of Barclay Drive, Bedford died Monday, December 14, 2015 at her residence. She was born on June 30, 1926 in Imler, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Welsh) Marshall. On April 3, 1948 in Cumberland, MD, she married Ralph J. Fleegle who preceded her in death on May 3, 2009. She is survived by two daughters: Sheryll Deffibaugh and husband Kerry, of Imler, Cathy Vincent and husband Terry, of Bedford; a son Roger Fleegle, married to the former Jeanette Stonerook, of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Mareda Benton.
Peg worked for the former Fairfoot Shoe Company in Bedford, and then worked for Sheetz rand retired from there after 20 years. She was a great baker, and enjoyed playing bingo and watching all the Pittsburgh sports teams. Peg loved to bowl and traveled to play in tournaments, she also at one time held the highest women’s bowling average in Bedford County.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor John Bennet officiating. Burial at Greenfield Cemetery, in Queen. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
