Mildred J. Barnes, 87, of Donahue Manor Road, Bedford, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on March 30, 1926, in Everett, a daughter of the late Orville and Mary (Weyant) Shoemaker. On May 1, 1953, in Cumberland, MD, she married Granville S. "Barney” Barnes who preceded her in death on April 30, 2007. She is survived by a son, Keith Barnes of Hopewell; two grandchildren: Jessica and Shawn; numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Marge Furry, and two brothers, Gerald Shoemaker, and Chalmer Burket.
Mildred was affiliated with the Everett Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Gary Blankley officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
