Michael Weber Mardorff passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at UPMC Harrisburg. He was born March 25, 1949, the only son of Fred G. and Hilda Kathryn (Weber) Mardorff. He was first married to Joyce Wambaugh formerly of Manns Choice. Michael is survived by two children, Brenda (Mardorff) Fincke, and husband Paul of Henrico, VA and Matthew Mardorff, and wife Ho-Jung of Mechanicsburg; He was the proud Grandfather to four beautiful granddaughters: Katherine, Meredith, and Addison Fincke, and Madelyn Mardorff. He is survived by four sisters: Carolyn Suzanne Lynch widow of Daniel, of Short Gap, W.Va., Elizabeth “Betsy” Snider and husband Bernard “Tweet” of New Enterprise, Marianne Rogers and husband Lowell of Everett, and Nancy Sivits and husband Joseph of New Paris. He was preceded in death by one sister Kathryn Lynn Avery
Michael graduated from Bedford High School in 1967 and served in the U.S. Army in 1968. He graduated from meat cutting school in Toledo, OH before starting his own business. Michael owned and operated several successful businesses in his lifetime. He established and operated Mike’s Custom Butchering in Manns Choice for many years, and owned and operated Mike’s Cones in Rehoboth Beach on the Boardwalk in Delaware. As a hard-working entrepreneur, he also owned other smaller businesses. Michael’s interest in aviation, lead him to acquiring his pilot’s license, and owning a small Cessna airplane. He loved navigating the skies, especially around beautiful Bedford County.
The family would like to thank his loyal friend Ed, who was a great help to Mike and a good friend to the end.
Above all, Michael cherished time spent with his family and friends. His warmth, determination, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be remembered fondly and missed deeply.
