Michael Hartwiger

Michael Hartwiger, 63, of Bedford, died on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born on May 24, 1954, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Joseph and Frieda (Brawner) Hartwiger. On January 20, 1984, in Lock Haven, he married Lou Ann (Probst) Hartwiger and she preceded him in death on March 15, 2017. He is survived by a sister, Mary M. Witt; of Houston, TX and a niece, Rebecca Goodwin of Magnolia, TX.
Michael worked as a Park Ranger, the General Motors electrical motor division in Bedford and most recently a State Probation Judge for the Commonwealth of PA. He was a member for the VFW Post # 7527, Sons of the American Legion Post # 113. He was an avid race fan and enjoyed hunting.
A memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Jim Miller officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday, from 11:00 until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in Michael’s name to the Humane Society of Bedford County, 1108 Lutzville Road, Everett, PA 15537.
