Merleen D. Dibert, 54 of Springfield, IL, formerly of Pavia, died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the Windber Hospital. She was born January 9, 1956 in Altoona, daughter of the late Homer D. and Kathleen (Feather) Dibert. She is survived by two sisters; Madean D. Dibert and Myra Whysong-Krentz, both of Pavia, two nieces; Katie M. Whysong of Fishertown and Kasey M. Ross of Pavia.
She was a 1973 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School; she has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown, a master’s degree in History from IUP and a master’s degree in Library Science from Case Western University in Cleveland. Merleen was a retired librarian for the state of Illinois, and was a member of the American Library Association.
Funeral services: Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Brad Allison officiating, Burial at the Pavia Cemetery.
