Maurice R. Strawn

Maurice R. “Moe” Strawn, 82 of Autumn Grove Care Center in Harrisville, formerly of Bedford, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh.  He was born December 18, 1928 in Berlin, PA, son of the late Maurice L. and Mary B. (Smith) Strawn.  On January 23, 1949 in Shanksville, he married Phyllis M. Kimmel and she survives along with a daughter, Doris J. wife of William Fumai of Augusta GA, and a son M. Robert Strawn Jr., and special friend Karen Miller of Hollsopple, four grandchildren; Nathan A. Claycomb and wife Denise, Jessica A., Ian Strawn and wife Brianna and Wesley J. Strawn.  Two great grandsons:  Ephram and Ethan Claycomb.  He was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Ann and a brother Leonard Emrick and a sister Louise J. O’neal.

Mr. Strawn was a member of Bedford Trinity Lutheran Church, former member of Bedford Elks Lodge #1707 and Bedford Lions Club.  He retired in 1994 as a lumber dealer. Moe was an avid hunter and golfer.
