Matthew L. Thompson

Matthew L. Thompson, 82, of Bedford Valley Road, died Friday, February 25, 2005 at Windber Medical Center. He was born on June 19, 1922 in Johnstown, a son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Sobditch) Thompson. He is survived by a sister, Lucy Cejolle of Johnstown, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Joseph & Steve, and 2 sisters Mae & Ann.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania Trappers Association, He was an avid bee keeper, and a member of the National Association of Beekeepers. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling, He also wrote articles for Fur & Fish& Game magazine in 50's & 60's. He was a favorite uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. He retired after 30 years as a crane operator for Bethelem Steel.
Funeral Services on Friday, March 4, 2005, at 2:00 PM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Pastor Michael Tamorria officiating. There will be no visitation. Those wishing may make contributions to the Humane Society, 1108 Lutzville Road, Everett, Pa. 15537.
