Mary Ellen Wright

Mary Ellen Wright, 79, of Maple Lane, Schellsburg, formerly of Bedford, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at Altoona Hospital.  She was born April 15, 1932 in Plasterco, VA,  daughter of the late Luke and Sadie Mae (Clapp) Lawrence.  On November 17, 1950 in Glade Spring, VA, she married Paul E. Wright and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2005.  She is survived by a son, James Edward Wright, married to the former Marian Heyiler, of Pasadena, MD, a daughter Sharon wife of Stephen McNamara of Bedford, three grandchildren, Brian Thomas Wright and wife Danielle, Elizabeth Ann Wright, and Jamie Lee Boyd, two great grandchildren, Jaden Fuller and Brendan Wright.  She was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Rebecca Wright and a grandson Joshua Boyd.

Mrs. Wright was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church.   She had worked as a clerk in a retail store in Maryland, before her retirement.  She loved to spend time with her great granddaughter, Jaden, who was her light through many dark days.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Laurel, MD.  There will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Bedford Presbyterian Church, 145 S.
