Mary A. Swope, 65, of Lincoln Highway, Everett, died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at her residence, after a lengthy illness. She was born on August 29, 1943 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Theodore and Irma (Dively) Heming. On October 31, 1968, in Bedford, she married James W. Swope who survives along with a son, Ryan Swope married to the former Rachel Eshelman of New Enterprise, a brother, Richard Heming and wife Gene of Bedford, a brother, Ronald Heming and wife Edna of Everett, a sister, Carrie wife of Melvin Ward of Bedford, and a sister, Donna wife of John Shaffer of New Paris. She was preceded in death by a daughter Wendy Renee
Mrs. Swope worked at Murphy’s Mart, and then became Asst. Manager after the store became Ames. After the closing of Ames she worked at the General Store in the Gateway Travel Plaza.
Funeral Services: Saturday, February 14, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, with the Rev. Curtis Bryant officiating, burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.
