Mary Ellen (Seidel) Williams

Mary Ellen Williams 86, formerly of Deerfield Beach, FL, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Homewood at Martinsburg.  She was born on March 18, 1932 in Reading, a daughter of the late Roy A. and Lucetta (Knause) Seidel.  She then married Giles Ellsworth Williams, who preceded her in death in 1992.  She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Bowser widow of Stanley Luniewski, of Bedford; a step-daughter, Bonnie (Williams) Perkins and husband Robert of Savage, MD, and their daughter Heather, a granddaughter, Deanna Weaverling and husband Larry, of Bedford; two great-granddaughters: Sydney Blair and Brooke Elyse Weaverling.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia O’Bryan. Mary Ellen graduated from Hamburg High School, in Hamburg, PA. She worked for Bell South in Laurel, Maryland and then transferred to Florida where she retired from Bell South. After retirement she worked many jobs including a travel agent, concierge, and even worked the gift shop once on a cruise to Alaska.  She also volunteered her time with the local library and Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the D.A.R. Deerfield Beach Chapter, and enjoyed traveling and quilting. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 22 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Lay Minister Jim Miller officiating.  In lieu of flowers, family asks that contributions be donated to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
