Mary Jane Rinscheid
October 22, 1918 — December 24, 2010
Mary Jane (Whetstone) Rinscheid, 92, of Edgewood Drive in Ross Township, Pittsburgh, passed away Christmas Eve at the home of her son, Jeff, in Bedford, where she had resided for the past 15 months.
Mary Jane was born October 22, 1918, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Gilbert Cleon Whetstone and Goldie Anna Bulger. On June 15, 1942, she married Louis Rinscheid, who predeceased her in 1995. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Veronna Hebner Border and Velma Shoop, and a brother, Albert “Bus” Whetstone.
Mary Jane was witty and enjoyed being silly and playing practical jokes, as well as collecting carnival and crackle glass.
She is survived by her son, Jeff, his wife, BJ Taylor, and Jeff’s son, Mike Cherry, and wanted to remember her good friends in Pittsburgh: Peg Grogan, Kathy Belcastro, and Ellie Kozera.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford. Burial at St. Augustine Cemetery in Pittsburgh. Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
