Mary E. Keefer

Mary E. Keefer, 74, of Buck Falls Road, Bedford, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.  She was born on December 19, 1938 in Lemont Furnace a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Ada (Hancock) Wedl.  On April 14, 1956 in Cumberland, MD, she married Ronald E. Keefer and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2010.  She is survived by nine children: a daughter Terry L Dempsey of Bedford, a daughter Jeannie wife of Frank LeMacher of Waterloo, WI, a daughter, Debra wife of Timothy Hooker of Bedford, a daughter, Kimberly wife of Steven Grimes of Everett, a daughter,  Rhonda wife of Don DiBuono of Lonaconing, MD, a daughter, Karen wife of Bruce Lightner of Bedford, a son, Ronald E. Keefer, Jr. of Ephrata, a daughter,  Melissa wife of Robert Allen of Navarre, OH, and a son Andrew Keefer married to the former Samantha Tata of Woodbine, MD.  Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two brothers:  Charles Wedl and wife Greta of Lemont Furnace, and John Wedl of Kalamazoo, MI.  She was preceded in death by 3 brothers:  Andrew, Bud and James Wedl and one sister Tess Walker.

Mrs. Keefer was affiliated with the Bedford Valley Assembly of God Church, and had worked for the Bedford Springs Hotel until its closing. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, bowling and spending time with her family.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Troy Gearhart officiating.   Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Green Ridge Memorial Park in Connellsville.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
