Mary B. Hicks

Mary Bailey Hicks, 83, of Concord Drive, Bedford, died on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at her residence. She was born on January 16, 1929, a daughter of the late Raymond and Viola (Davis) Bailey. On October 7, 1950, in New Castle, she married Ellis E. Hicks and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2010.  She is survived by a daughter, Nancy wife of Dennis Kriek of Glenshaw, a son, Nathan Dale Hicks married to the former Linda Mahoney of Downingtown, a daughter, Doris wife of William Stiffler, DDS of Bedford, and a son, Alan Hicks married to the former Faith Wingerd of Crofton, MD; 12 grandchildren: Bryan, Christopher, and Andrew Stiffler, Robyn and Rebekah Kriek, Daniel, Kimberly, and Amy Hicks, Amanda Clements, Heather Hicks, Haylee Hicks Hanling, and Jacob Hanling. She was preceded in death by a son Randall James Hicks husband of Stacy Hicks Hanling of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., two brothers Guy and William Bailey, and a sister Viola Jane Bradigan.

Mary was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church, and recently attended St. John’s United Church of Christ.  Mary enjoyed being a homemaker and loved to bake cookies and pies for her grandchildren.  She was affectionately known as “Marker”.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Joseph Puleo officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery. Friends will be received on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
