Mary Ann (Gore) Davis

Bedford

Mary Ann Davis 88, of Bedford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at her residence.  She was born on January 15, 1933 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late George E. and Cecelia (Zeiler) Gore.  She is survived by the following family: a daughter Diana Megdad and husband Mohammed AlMegdad, a daughter Brenda Harclerode and husband William, a son Gilbert Davis, and a daughter Linda Turner Buckley and husband Tim; all of Bedford; five grandchildren: David Harclerode and wife Allison, Branden Davis and wife Lachele, Sheri Hypes and husband Jeff, Michael Al-Megdad and wife Olga, and Jamie Glunt and husband Matthew; eleven great-grandchildren: Cole, Jacob, Kira, Emma, Elizabeth, Sarah, Kian, Joey, Julia, Ben, and Danny; an aunt Beverly Zeiler; three sisters-in-law: Delores Meyers, Hedy Shaffer, and Brenda Gore; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Marie Al-Megdad; a son-in-law, Jeffrey Turner; her former husband Gilbert E. Davis; an infant sister, Charlotte Gore; and three brothers: infant Charles, George “Buddy” and wife LuAnne, and Don Gore.

Mary was a lifelong entrepreneur starting at the age of 5 selling candy in her neighborhood.  She then organized a street sweeping “Broom Brigade” to help raise money for the war effort. From there she went on to work at numerous places including, managing the JC Penney Catalog Store in Bedford, Deerhead Mobile Homes, driver for IU8, and owned and operated “Second Edition” a thrift shop between Bedford and Everett.  Mary could play violin by ear and was known for her famous chocolate toffee candy that she generously shared with many people.  She had a strong faith that she shared with many, and had attended the Christian Missionary & Alliance Church. Mary loved her many caregivers at Integrity, Grane Hospice, and Dr. David Horton.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., at the Christian Missionary & Alliance Church, in Bedford, with Pastor Steve Egbert officiating.  Burial at Jenners Crossroads Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service at the church.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
