Mary Treva (Calhoun) May

Mary Treva May 80, of Bedford, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at her residence.  She was born on May 28, 1944 in W. St. Clair Township, a daughter of the late Chalmer and Evelene (Hixson) Calhoun.  On April 10, 1968 in Neu-Ulm, Germany she married Homer W. May Jr, who survives along with three sons: Homer W. May III, of West Chester, Shane Ryan May and wife Angeline, of Bedford, and Derek Christian May and fiancée Jennifer, of Myrtle Beach; five grandchildren: Tyler, Jacob, Van, Chloe, and Pre; and a brother Skyles Calhoun and wife Jean, of Bedford.  She was preceded in death by four siblings: Ethel Johnson, Dorothy Merritts, Mable Ritchey, and James Calhoun.

Treva graduated from Bedford High School in 1963 and Allegany College of Maryland in 1977 with a degree in nursing.  She worked as a nurse at various places that included Sacred Heart in Cumberland, Donahoe Manor, and Clairmont Nursing Home in Carlisle.  She enjoyed shopping, the Christmas season, and going on vacations in Florida.  She loved her Lord and was an inspiration to her entire family.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
