Mary E. Blackburn

Mary Eva Blackburn, 93 of Homewood Nursing Home in Martinsburg, formerly of Bedford, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the home.  She was born March 27, 1917 in Imler, daughter of the late Elmer J. and Elizabeth (Brown) Long.  On September 12, 1963, she married Thomas J. Blackburn and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2002.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters; Francis Long and Dorothy Ake, and two brothers; Clair Long and Carl Long, married to Olive Long who survives of Imler.  She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Blackburn was a member of St. Paul’s Reform Church near Cessna and enjoyed gardening and cooking.  She also had worked with her husband at the former Jay

Funeral Services: Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev.
