Martha Jane (Mcgee) Bingham

Martha Jane Bingham, 98, of Everett, formerly of Bedford, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on December 23, 1918, in Terre Haute, IN, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary (Helsel) McGee. On September 5, 1941, she married Charles E. Bingham and he preceded her in death on September 13, 1976. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Shippey and husband Thomas, of Manns Choice, a son, Bernard "Bernie" Bingham and wife Linda, of Boyertown; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren, a sister, Thelma Horner of Bedford.  She was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Bingham, three sisters, Gertie Hinish, Clarisse Foor, and Margaret Sell, and one brother, Robert McGee.

Martha was affiliated with the Wolfsburg United Methodist Church. She worked at various place in Bedford including Bedford MHMR, Kennametal, Methodist Church Children’s Day Care, and waitressed at the Bedford Springs. She worked until she was 91. She enjoyed shopping and camping.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 11:00 am, in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Beth Pyles officiating.  Burial will be private.  Friends will be received on Monday, from 6 - 8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions in Martha’s name to the Wolfsburg United Methodist Church, 503 East Penn Street, Bedford, PA 15522.
