Martha Ann (Koons) Lau, 71, of Mill Road, Schellsburg, went to be with her Savior Sunday, October 5, 2014 at her residence. She was born on August 5, 1943, in York, a daughter of the late Clair and Eleanor (Griffith) Koons. On April 24, 1962, in York, she married Richard “Greg” Lau who survives along with two daughters: Deborah Pilukaitis and husband Richard of Schellsburg, Sarah Carletti and Husband Michael of York: four grandchildren: Christopher and Eric Schrum, Lauren Carletti, and Christine Wanzer; four great grandchildren: Owen and Evan Schrum, Dillon and Caitlyn Wanzer; one brother, Tom Koons, and wife Linda of York.
Martha was a member of the Faith Brethren Bible Church, in New Paris. She and her husband owned and operated Country Spun Wool in York and the Covered Bridge Inn bed and breakfast when they moved to Bedford. She served on the board for the Convention and Visitors Bureau for 13 years. Martha enjoyed gardening, church, outdoors and spending time with her family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Brethren Bible Church in New Paris, with Rev. Espenshade officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. till the hour of the service at the church. A meal will be served in the fellowship hall after the service. Arrangements by the Timothy A.
