Marjorie F. (Findley) Bellfy

Marjorie F. Bellfy, 94, of, Montoursville, formerly of Bedford, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, in Muncy, PA. She was born on April 1, 1922, in Cramer, a daughter of the late H. Steele and Ruth (Ream) Findley. On February 10, 1951, in Albany, NY, she married Wendell F. Bellfy who preceded her in death on June 23, 2006. She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia M. Paulhus, of Alexandria, VA, a daughter, Gretchen E. Reese, of Nashville, TN, a son, Michael F. Bellfy and wife Mary Ann, of Williamsport, a daughter, Mary Ellen Bellfy and husband Mike, of Austin, TX, six grandchildren:  Susan, Karen, Shawnda, Suzana, Sarah, and Katie, 10 great grandchildren, and a brother, Dennis S. Findley, of Rockhill, SC.

Marjorie attended the Bedford Church of the Brethren and graduated from Juniata College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She worked as an office supervisor for Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company, in Harford, CT.  She taught English at Bedford High School and St. Thomas Catholic School. She was a former member of DAR, Colonial Danes, and the Historical Society.  She enjoyed playing in the bridge card clubs.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev.
