Marilyn G. Salazar, 75 of Bedford, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. She was born August 20, 1934 in Lewistown, daughter of the late Dr. Samuel J. and Florence L. (Hummel) Steinberger. On August 5, 1956, in Lewistown, she married Rev. Robert G. Salazar and he survives along with three children; Colleen wife of David Young of Duarte, CA, Alan Salazar married to the former Julie Ostgaard of McKinney, TX and Jeffrey Salazar, married to the former Penny Bossenbrobk of Ontario, CA, nine grandchildren: Francina Anderson, Melanie Peters, Rebecca Young, Ashley, Nathan, Eric, Estella, Travor and Hannah Salazar. Also surviving is a brother Carl Steinberger and wife Nancy of Pomona, NY, and a sister, Cheryl Huff of East Burkeville, TX.
Mrs. Salazar was a member of the Everett Brethren Church. She graduated from Robert P. Smith High School in 1952 and Bryan University at Dayton, TN in 1956. She taught elementary through high school the past 30 years. She was also a missionary to Spain for five years. She was an accomplished pianist, and taught piano to many Bedford area students.
Graveside services: Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Maitland Brethren Church in Lewistown. Local Memorial services will be announced at later time.
