Margaret M. Williams

Margaret M. “Peg” Williams, 76, of Bedford, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born on August 14, 1935, in Charleville, County Cork, Ireland, a daughter, of the late John and Johanna (McCarthy) Morrison.  On October 4, 1958, in Bedford, she married Kenneth M. Williams Sr. who survives along with four children: Kenneth M. Williams Jr. and wife Pam of Everett, Annita K. Mallow and husband Rick of Clearville, Patricia "P.J." McGillivray and husband Mike of Vacaville, CA, Maura W. Foor and husband Rich of Bedford; six grandchildren: Desni Dantone and husband Stephen, Sean and Patrick McGillivray, Kane Williams, Kaitlyn and Konner Foor; one great-grandchild Nicholas; one brother, Con Morrison; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Jack and Steve; and three sisters: Kathleen, Anna, and Maureen.

Peg was of the Catholic Faith, and worked at the former Bedford Springs, McDonalds, and The Gateway Plaza.  Peg left Ireland at an early age to reside and find work in London, England.  While she was there she met her future husband Kenny who was serving with the United States Air Force.  They were married in Bedford in 1958 and her passing ends a union of 53 years.  Peg was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She loved a good book, knitting, enjoyed watching tennis and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.  Especially to her family, Peg was known for her sense of humor and sharp wit that she maintained until her passing.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Jim Miller officiating burial will be private.
